Free, drive-through flu shot clinic Saturday in Roswell | Health
The Roswell Health Office will hold a free, drive-thru flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First American Bank at 3220 N. Main St. (corner of Main St. and Berrendo).
The Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone older than six months get their flu vaccine to prevent the disease from spreading.
“We will be offering free flu vaccinations to the community and all they have to do is drive up and receive their flu shot without getting out of their car,” said Carol Larez, nurse manager of the Roswell Health Office.
The health department especially recommends flu shots for the people in the following groups: pregnant women; children younger than five ( but especially those younger than two); people age 65 and older; people of any age with certain chronic medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, and lung or heart disease; people who live in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities; people who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu, including health care workers and caregivers for babies younger than 6 months; American Indians and Alaskan Natives, who last flu season seemed to be at higher risk of flu complications and people who are morbidly obese.
